Our Pigs
At Arngask Home Farm, our pigs are at the heart of everything we do. We take pride in raising healthy, happy pigs that are given the space, care, and attention they deserve. Our animals are not just livestock—they’re a part of our family.
We focus on sustainable, ethical farming practices that ensure our pigs live comfortable, bottom scratching, tummy rubbing, veggie eating, rooting and roaming lives. Our pigs are raised in a natural, pasture-based environment, where they can root, roam, and forage freely. This not only keeps them healthy but also produces high-quality pork that’s flavourful, tender, and ethical.
We raise Oxford Sandy & Black pigs at Arngask, a registered rare breed who are in great need of support. The Oxford Sandy & Black has reached crisis point at least twice when numbers were so low that extinction was a real possibility. Helped by the Oxford Sandy & Black Charity, we were supported to start breeding our own OSB’s and introduced the first ‘Jack’ bloodline to Scotland. OSB’s are renowned for producing the very best pork meat packed full of flavour.
Ultimately, we believe that happy pigs produce the best pork, which is why we’re committed to small scale, responsible and hands on farming practices that promote the best animal welfare. We’re proud of the bonds we’ve built with our pigs and the positive impact our methods have on the land, the environment, and the community.
Eating pork grown on a small-scale, which supports the farmers direct – with the added bonus of supporting a rare breed, is the best and most wholesome way of enjoying pork.
Our pigs provide the foundation for exceptional flavours, incredible cuts and the best tasting pork that comes from raising animals with care and respect.
At Arngask Home Farm quality, sustainability and love are always served at the table.
